Lantern Point

Dive Site: Lantern / Lighthouse Point

Location: Just off the island of Comino

Description: Chimney, cave, wall and swim-through

Depth: 6 - 50  metres (20 - 112 feet)

Visibility: 15 metres (50 feet)

Lantern Point marks the south eastern point of Comino and the dive is south of the Point and starts from a rocky shelf at six meters, where the boat normally anchors. From there an almost vertical chimney drops down to 16 meters. The tunnel is wide enough for divers to manoeuvre without touching the sides with fireworms. Outside the tunnel and slightly to the right, divers can enjoy a maze of swimthroughs, underneath the massive rock, where starfish can be seen. Behind the large rock, there are boulders, giving way to a gentle slope at about 50 metres. Marine life includes dentex, amberjacks, barracuda, bream, groupers, moray eels, star fish and octopus.
